RL Naomi Grenache Gris, restraint, balance and the art of slow reveal
100% Grenache Gris from the ancient vines of Gibson Ranch, this white, more than any other wine in the range is an exercise in restraint, balance and the art of the slow reveal.
Grenache Gris, being a textural variety, has an uncanny ability to provide weight, texture and breadth while still providing a fresh hit of acid to keep it all in line and propped up.
Not flashy or spoofy in any way, rather, Naomi is concentrated elegance, intensely nuanced.
The grapes are fermented as whole cluster and given 3 weeks off skins with native yeasts. The wine is made in polyethylene drums, the vines are 100 year old and organically farmed. Evan Lewandowski is the winemaker, using non-interventionist techniques including all ambient yeats for the fermentation, no filtering or fining, and nothing added except in some cases a tiny sulfur addition (this wine has 20 mg/L, which is miniscule).
