Inconnu Chardonnay, bright fresh and racy with a savory saltiness
Chardonnay that got forgotten in tank for a few years, got weird, then came around and got awesome!
Words from Ned:
It's bright and fresh and racy but has great salt in the mid palate. Ripe lemon is the first flavor but then there's pineapple, that savory saltiness, a bit of toast (in a toasted creme brulee flavor sort of way). Then on the finish there's a nice clean lemon grass flavor. This is a delicious wine with some of the tension that you get from Jura Chardonnays but it's not oxidative or tired. It's unique and awesome... but sadly because it is the result of an accident Laura's never going to make more.
Laura is a woman wine maker who's fought hard for what she's built. She's had to make hard decisions and she does things with intention. She's driven by passion and romance but she's a realist in her day to day decision making. I appreciate her very much.
