Daniel Ramos Kapi Amphorae, Garnacha aged in traditional clay vessels
Autumn Flow
From Ned at Devenish:
This is 100% old vine Garnacha aged on the skins for 9 months in old terracotta Amphora. This is actually a super traditional way of making wine here in this area and Daniel makes this as a tribute to the classic local wines that had been made here for thousands of years.
The aroma is spicy and has aromatic herbs. It's a great wintery kind of combination of currant, licorice, tootsie roll, and wintergreen smells all together. Yes, those are crazy aromas to have together, but come on, live a little! Not all wines have to smell like ripe cherries and black berries. In fact, not all Grenaches have to smell like ripe vivid cherries and raspberries as this is a Grenache after all and that is how most Grenache gets pigeon holed.... those Grenaches do not spend 9 months in terracotta though... this wine honest and delicious.
