Clemensbusch Riesling Trocken, 'beguiling lightness, playful character'

Clemensbusch Riesling Trocken, 'beguiling lightness, playful character'

$22.00Price

I served this at wine bar a few years ago and it was a huge favorite.  It's back and even more bright and delicious.

Ned from Devenish: Ooh, racy! Lemon lime with bracing acidity- mineral and slate and salt on the mid palate! The finish is more salty with some baked apple. Balancing the dynamic opening the finish is rich and sunny with a little hint of cinnamon but overall the wine has a lovely beguiling lightness to it that heightens the playful character! This is gorgeous.

Bottled at the end of June, the 2019 Riesling Trocken intermixes ripe and juicy Riesling fruit with a delicate slate aroma. Lush and round on the palate, this is a delicate and even salty Riesling with juicy fruit and a fine Ribera structure on the finish. It has 10.5% alcohol yet is intense and expressive—stunning. Tasted at the domain from AP 25 20 in September 2020. Rita and Clemens Busch are long establishing the organic domain among the finest Riesling producers in all of Germany. The recent three vintages are full of highlights again, namely among the dry wines, which are all sourced from old vines in different sections of the Pündericher Marienburg with its many different parts, expositions, altitudes and soil colors. The wines are authentic, expressive and have an inimitable identity that represents the particular origin of which the terraced parts with the often ungrafted vines can give unforgettable drinking experience (Fahrlay Terrassen, Felsterrasse, Raffes). These are not wines to enjoy quickly or even thoughtlessly. I'd rather recommend to drink them slowly, not too cool and with all the time they need and you are ready to give them.
