Chevalerie Bourgueil Cuvee Peu Muleau, aged cab franc
$26.00Price
The appellation Bourgueil is part of the region of Loire Valley from France which include Domaine de la Chevalerie and its 4 cuvées. Peu Muleau is from 35 year old vines at the top of the sunny slope overlooking Restigne, on aeolian sand to give pretty violet-scented wines for earlier drinking while Chevalerie benefits from south-west facing 70 year old vines on sandy clay over limestone to deliver more structured wines. These are deliciously meaty, dense, and astonishingly age-worthy Loire Cabernet Francs, up to 20 years cellaring.
