Adega Manuel Formigo Finca Teira Ribeiro Blanco, lively and delicious
I so appreciate Spainish whites, there's that color and depth, like the sun;
A fantastic field blend of traditional grapes, this wine is from 30+ year old vines, treated organically, and densely planted on “sábrego”, a type of soft granite, mixed with stones and gravel. Sábrego soils are very highly acidic, very poor in organic material and drain well.
The grapes are gently pressed with a pneumatic press, with inclusion of small percentage of selected ripe stems. Fermentation is over 14 days at cool temperatures in stainless steel tank. No malolactic fermentation.
It offers sweet lemon curd, quartz, on a medium frame, while the mid-palate displays a touch of floral and stone fruit notes, matched by a snappy acidity on the finish. Fantastico!
